About us

About Us

1st Great Sutton Scout Group is one of the 7 Scout Groups in the Ellesmere Port & Neston District within the County of Cheshire.

The Group consists of one Squirrel Drey, two Beaver Colonies (Monday & Wednesday), two Cub Packs (Monday & Wednesday) and one Scout Troop (Friday).

The Group serves young people from the Great Sutton area although we do have and welcome members from other areas within Ellesmere Port.

We actively try to take part in as many District, County and national activities as we can, including camps, sleepovers, competition hikes, climbing, activities on the water and many many more indoor & outdoor pursuits.

We strive and believe in bringing young people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always. We’re are part of the largest worldwide movement, creating stronger connections within the surrounding communities and inspiring a positive future.

As Scouts, we believe in preparing young people for the wider world and building confidence and empowerment with skills for life.
We encourage young people to do more, learn more and be more. Each week, we help young people enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed, now and in the future.

We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians. We help young people develop and improve key life skills.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
